23-24 School Year!

Dear First Grade Families,

Welcome to our classroom blog! I will post weekly or bi-weekly updates about our classroom and important events coming up. I will also post pictures of students in action! I don't always think to grab my camera, but I hope to give you a peek into our classroom!

Today is our 10th day of school! So far, students have been working on learning classroom routines and building our classroom community. We have also been getting into our academic routines. Last week, we started our Everyday Math curriculum and this week we started Unit 1 of our Fundations (phonics) lessons. We are working on building our stamina and independence. 

While we have started some of our academic routines, we are still very much focused on our classroom community. As a teacher, it is my goal for my classroom to be a safe, welcoming environment where everyone is able to learn. I also like to laugh and have fun!

Tonight is the Open House from 5:00-6:30. It is a drop in style. Your student can show you around the classroom and then do a school scavenger hunt. I hope to meet as many of you as possible!
